What Is The Best Cleanser Or Face Wash For Acne Skin

Find Out The Top 5 Ingredients You Should Look For In Your Acne Products

Acne Prone Skin requires a balance of detoxification to reduce or kill the P acne bacteria, exfoliation to break down and remove dead skin cells and unclog pores, and calming ingredients to reduce inflammation , redness and the prevention of possible blemishes and even scars.

When you suffer with acne prone skin, choosing the right cleanser and other skin specific products can aid the process of ridding your skin of the bacteria that make their way into pores and lead to inflammatory breakouts and even infection. A thorough cleansing with the proper exfoliation also removes dead cells on the surface of your skin, which makes for better absorption of the acne product that follows cleansing.

The Top 5 Ingredients to look for in your acne cleanser and other acne products either for your face or your body are as follows:

1. Benzoyl Peroxide: is a topical antibiotic that kills Propionibacterium acnes, or P. acnes, the bacteria that causes acne inflammation. Benzoyl peroxide is an antibacterial agent due to its oxygenating property which moves oxygen into clogged pores thereby killing the P acne bacteria which cannot survive in an oxygen rich environment.

Benzoyl Peroxide products come in varying strengths ranging from 2.5% to 10 %. The percentage you will need may depend on the severity of your acne and the amount of bacteria in the skin.

2. Glycolic Acid: a form of alpha-hydroxy acid generally derived from sugar cane works to gently exfoliate dull skin cells, unclogging pores and aids in the regulation of sebum.

3. Salicylic Acid: is a keratolytic agent or exfoliant. It belongs to the same class of drugs as aspirin ( salicylates ). It works by increasing the amount of moisture in the skin and dissolving the substance that causes the skin cells to stick together and is an anti-inflammatory.

4. Echinacea Purpurea Extract: Herbal extract derived from the leaf; detoxifying, healing and is used as immune stimulantwhen taken internally.

5.Chamomile: promotes healthy skin by relieving irritations thanks to its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Chamomile’s flavonoids and essential oils penetrate below the skin surface into the deeper layers . As a traditional medicine, it’s been used for centuries to treat wounds, skin irritations, eczema, gout etc.
