What are Eyelash Extensions?

Unlike gluing a strip of temporary, fake lashes onto your lash line, semi-permanent lash extensions are applied by a  lash technician who hand-glues (using special glue for lashes) the extensions on top of your natural lashes.

Because eyelash extensions don't come in a strip, you will find they are customizable and actually look real. With proper care, they can last for six to eight weeks until they naturally fall out like your own lashes usually do due to growth cycles.

What Are the Types of Lashes Available?

Eyelash extensions are either synthetic, silk, and faux-mink and are different length, and curl type

A premium faux-mink fiber set is flexible and light. Or, ultra-silk lashes are extremely soft to the touch, but create a more dramatic look than the faux-mink fiber, without causing any strain to the natural lashes. For clients going for a more natural eyelash look, it is advisable to get a set of 70-90 lashes per eye, depending on the size of your eyelid.

When it comes to density, curl type, and length of your extensions, your eyelash extensions technician will work with you to figure out which is the best eyelash option for you. MaxAesthetics lash technician will take your face shape, bone structure, and natural lashes into consideration when helping you decide on a lash look.

The Benefits Of Extensions

1.Wake up with a set of long, full, dark, and feathery eyelashes — without clumping on three coats of mascara

2. You get to walk around with the lashes you wish you were born with, no mascara or sticky eyelash glue required.

3. Lashes make your eyes pop, and actually help breath life into an otherwise tired face.

How to Prepare For Your Eyelash Extension Appointment

Show up to your eyelash appointment with clean skin and no eye makeup ready for your lash extension. That means absolutely no eyeshadow, eyeliner, and/or mascara. Anything on your lids or lashes could affect how your extensions turn out.

How To Care For Your New Lashes

1.You can't get your lashes wet for 24 hours after getting eyelash extensions.

"Eyelash adhesives vary in the time they take to cure, from either 12 to 24 hours depending on what eyelash glue your stylist uses.

2. It's very important that you're gentle with your lashes and make sure that no water touches them during this time,

You can shower after getting an eyelash extension as long as you don’t get the lashes wet and don’t stay in the steam for too long.

3. Only use non oil based products specifically formulated to be safe for eyelash extensions such as mascara, eye makeup remover etc, since oil can weaken the bond of your eyelash extensions and cause them to shed prematurely.

If you wear eye makeup, use oil-free pads and gently swipe downward, rather than back and forth, to get your lids and lashes clean.

4. Avoid rubbing or tugging at your eyes at all cost.
